JustPoS appointed as Epson specialist PoS distributor for SA hospitality sector

30 Mar 2010

Epson has strengthened its local distribution base with the appointment of JustPoS as a specialist distributor of its PoS printer range to the South African hospitality sector.
This follows on from JustPoS's appointment as a specialist partner and Epson Express Centre in April 2009, which initially aimed to assist Epson establish market share in the hospitality POS industry.
“As part of Epson's vision to improve our channel integrity throughout 2010, Epson identified the need to appoint value-added partners that can deliver the highest possible service standards in various specialist industry sectors. In line with this vision, the appointment of JustPoS was a strategic fit for us,” explains Kelvin Reynolds, general manager for Epson Southern Africa.
Since the partnership was established in 2009, JustPoS has helped strengthen Epson's foothold in the point of sale (PoS) printing market for the hospitality sector in South Africa.
“Our partnership with JustPoS has yielded positive results to date which is testament that Epson's products, together with JustPoS's service methodology has filled a gap in the hospitality sector,” says Reynolds.
As an Epson specialist distributor, JustPoS will now have access to the entire range of Epson PoS products suitable for the hospitality industry, and, as an Epson Express Centre, JustPoS can assure its customers of a speedy swap-out and repair service for faulty products.
The current service package that JustPoS offers the channel in Johannesburg (in close partnership with PartServe) is about to be rolled out to Kwazulu-Natal and Cape Town too.
“Our channel partners are particularly pleased about this as it will for the first time make the "behind the scenes" printer support - for restaurants and fast-food - completely seamless in all three major centres of South Africa,” says JustPoS managing director, Paul Jules.
Jules also commented that despite the fact that South Africa is still emerging from the global recession, his young business has seen a steady growth as a result of a booming fast food sector.
“Our growth can be attributed to the steady increase in the number of fast food restaurants opening throughout South Africa over the past few months, upping the demand for PoS system as a result,” Jules added.
“Epson's hospitality products - in particular the Epson TM-T88 and TM-U220 series – offer unrivalled reliability, durability and lifespan, and as a result the company has earned its reputation as the industry leader in hospitality PoS printing.”
“JustPoS has successfully adopted a product and service strategy aimed at servicing the specific needs of this specialised channel – a value-added reseller base that is responsible for more than 13,000 site installations across South Africa
Reynolds says that Epson is really pleased with its overall increase in its PoS market share over the past year and is looking forward to working together with Jules and his team to increase this further in 2010.
“The hospitality industry is just the first step for our partnership with JustPos. We're working closely together to expand our overall PoS printer market share in South Africa by tackling other industry sectors fairly soon,” concluded Reynolds.
